Well, I’m a bit bloody lost for words today! My search for faith in humanity was successful! Leeds absolutely smashed it again!
The marathon was incredibly hot this year, feeling even more brutal than last year, probably because I’ve been necking cold and flu meds since finishing work on Thursday. Despite the tough conditions, my support team excelled themselves. My best mates jumped in at the 13-mile mark and surprised me again at 19 miles, providing much-needed encouragement.
My family travelled and gave up their entire day to back me, showing incredible dedication. I also saw some awesome customers on the route, with a few very special ones dedicating their day to tracking me in and out of Headingley. It was heartwarming to see old netball pals and previous work colleagues on the gruelling course, cheering me on.
A day surrounded by some bloody decent folk! Well done to all finishers today! It was exceptionally tough out there.
I finished in 4 hours and 22 minutes, and my fundraising for @christiecharity currently stands at over £1000. I am overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone who has donated. If anyone would like to donate to a great cause, you can do so here.
Thank you to everyone for their incredible support!
